Tints
Our laboratory can tint our basic plastic lens to any colour on special request.
You just give us the pantone shade you require and we will reproduce that colour on your lens.
We charge a supplement of £20 for individual colour orders but as previously mentioned,
the sky is your limit when it comes to choosing your own fashion colour or shade.
Our most popular shades however still seem to be Brown and Grey with four levels of tint in either colour.
We charge a supplement of just £14.95 for any of these shades.

Anti reflection coating (ARC)
Lens reflection can be a major problem for spectacle wearers.
Driving, shopping, watching television, operating V.D.U.s are just some of the many situations
where you the spectacle wearer has to put up with annoying and distracting reflections.
There are four different type of reflection:
- Reflection from the front of the lens.
- Reflections from behind which are superimposed on the wearers field of view.
- Internal reflections caused by power rings, particularly noticeable in high - powered lenses.
- Reflections at the front of the cornea.
All these reflections can reduce the amount of light reaching the eye by as much as 15%.
Which means both vision quality and contrast are impaired. Because the reflections cause a
mirrored effect on the front of the lenses, the eyes can be unflatteringly obscured and even the most
stylish frames look less attractive. However there is a solution. By treating the lens with layers of a
special metal oxide coating, reflections can be limited to less than 1% and the problems are eliminated altogether.
Because anti-reflection lenses give such a dramatic reduction of reflections the benefits are tremendous,
suddenly the lenses provide much clearer and sharper vision about as close to natural vision
that spectacle wearers can get. The mirror effect, often seen by onlookers is virtually eliminated,
which means the wearer's eyes can be seen more attractively, drivers can really see the benefits when
driving at night as reflections from the headlamps and streetlights are kept to a minimum, during the day
the glare from sunlight is reduced,
all of which makes wearing a pair of glasses a lot safer and more enjoyable.
Those wearers that require strong prescriptive high index lenses should use the
ARC to make their glasses look and feel as thin as possible but truthfully ARC will
make any good looking pair of glasses look and feel even better. To encourage the use
of ARC we are offering our 'Thin and Lite' 1.6 lens with ARC, UV and Hard-coat protection
for just £29.95 complete with any of our Full Rim frame range, £39.95 with our Semi Rim frame
and £59.95 with our Rimless frame. For high index users or people wanting the ultimate in lightweight
glasses, we are offering our Super thin 1.67 lens with ARC, UV, and Hard-coat protection for just £59.95
complete with any of our Full Rim frame range,
just £69.95 with any of our Semi Rim frames and £89.95 with any of our Rimless frames.
Hard Coating Protection.
All eyeglass lens material is prone to scratching, even glass.
However applying invisible hard coat treatment to the back and front of the lens does
provide protection on a day-to-day normal use basis. Please be advised that if you drop
your glasses onto a hard surface they will still scratch.
The manufacturers description of our ARC, UV and Hard Coated 'Thin and Lite' and Super Thin lens is as follows:
- Water Repellent
- Light Transmission of up to 98%
- Protection from harmful rays
- Lightweight and thin
- Can be seen more clearly
- Beautiful & Elegant
These lenses like all prescriptive lenses are quite delicate and extra care should be taken not to scratch them.
